The bull shark season starts around November and continues through towards the end of February. The fall of the ocean temperature during winter makes waters more comfortable for sharks to come closer to shore. They do this, it is believed, to birth their young and like any natural predator, to search for food.

Bull Sharks are the third most dangerous shark in the world, due to its large size, aggressive nature and tolerance to fresh water. In South Africa they are known as the Zambezi Shark. Named after the Zambezi River where they are often found, hunting in the shallow waters of the river mouth.
